Your employees then apply your contribution to the health plans they like best. With so many plan options, employees have the freedom to select the coverage that best meets their unique needs. If the cost of the plans they prefer exceeds your contribution, they pay the difference.

Once you set your contribution, you’re locked in for a year. At renewal, you can change your contribution – up or down. Then you can lock in your cost for another full year. So, you’re controlling benefit expenses for your business, while offering more choice to employees. It’s a win-win.

So what does that look like in action? You might select PPO coverage from Anthem Blue Cross. Your HR manager might select an Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plan from Cigna + Oscar or Anthem. A third employee who rarely visits the doctor might choose an HMO. CaliforniaChoice includes HMO options from Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Sharp Health Plan, Sutter Health Plus, UnitedHealthcare, and Western Health Advantage.
